Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM-4:30PM or 8:30AM - 5PMHourly Rate: Beginning at $21/hourQUALIFICATIONS:GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification from Indiana Board of Occupational Therapy at the time of appointment and must maintain current certification throughout employment in this classification.
- Experience working within a school setting. Experience in a pediatric setting a plus.
- Able to pass required background checks, physical and drug screen.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement as it relates to organizational development and service delivery.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet usage.
- Provide care and service in a manner consistent with Bashor’s treatment philosophy that is solution-focused, evidence-based, and family/client centered.
- Assist in supplementing, enhancing, and extending occupational therapy programs.
- Carry out activities designed by OTR to assist with assessment, intervention, treatment, and activities to enhance motor, sensory, self-regulatory, feeding, and other functional abilities.
- Assist OTR with screenings, assessments, and occupational therapy services.
- Follow and implement documented IEP plans or protocols.
- Document student progress toward meeting established objectives and report the information to the OTR.
- Assist the OTR during assessments with formal documentation.
- Prepare prior authorizations for residents.
- Prepare therapy materials and/or equipment for use in the classroom and therapy activities.
- Adapt or modify instructional materials and/or equipment as determined by student needs and abilities for teacher use in the classroom.
- Assist in maintaining resident records, tallying data, preparing charts, records, graphs, and monthly reports.
- Assist in organizing activities such as displaying educational materials, arranging furniture to facilitate instructional requirements, and creating an orderly and clean learning environment.
- Implement behavior management programs for students as designed by certified staff, observe and report significant student behavior, behavioral patterns, and/or other problems to the OTR.
- Ensure a safe, secure, and functional work environment by maintaining awareness of issues related to the physical plant.
- Plan and deliver in-service programs as needed for direct care staff.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by respective supervisor or as warranted by the needs of the Agency.
