Bashor Children’s Home is seeking a compassionate and dynamic House Manager (Unit Manager) to join our dedicated residential care team. In this leadership role, you’ll help create a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment for youth in need of healing and support. You’ll play a critical role in guiding staff, coordinating care, and contributing to the overall well-being and growth of the youth we serve.
As a Unit Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a residential unit, supervise direct care staff, and ensure high-quality, therapeutic services for youth. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver consistent, trauma-informed support in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, coach, and support a team of Youth Care Professionals
Oversee direct care delivery and ensure the physical, emotional, and therapeutic needs of youth are met
Coordinate routines, recreational activities, transportation, and schedules
Build effective teamwork across shifts and promote positive communication
Model trauma-informed care and reinforce positive behavior management strategies
Complete documentation including reports, evaluations, and treatment updates
Support hiring, training, and morale-building efforts within the unit
Promote professionalism, accountability, and a supportive team culture
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (required)
Leadership experience in residential, youth services, or related settings
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices or a willingness to learn and implement them
Solid organization, time management, and decision-making skills
Ability to lead activities, facilitate effective meetings, and manage a safe, structured environment
High integrity, flexibility, and a desire to foster personal and professional growth
Schedule
This full-time position requires flexibility and availability to support staff across shifts. Unit Managers generally work:
3 morning shifts and 2 evening shifts per week
At least two evenings per week, including one weekend day
Off-days typically include either Friday/Saturday or Sunday/Monday
